Go to ebay and check out live auctions, if you have the time there are auction houses in NYC that specialize in gold and diamonds. thats where you’ll get your best price.
First polish your rings and then you can go to any local jewelery shop … there are many in CHINA Town …. Gold shop will be best ,,,, And if they have any diamond in it .. you will not be paid for diamonds because diamonds sell for nothing in the Gold ….. GOOD LUCK … try to inquire about the gold rate in different shops first …
Unless you sell to a private buyer you will not get as much as you would probably like… Diamonds can add to the cost, depending on their size and quality… A few years ago it was $2.00 per point on a diamond… Gold in almost any jewelry store will be bought for maybe 60% of the actual gold weight…. not the total weight of ring. Someone’s idea of ebay is good, but if this is a high ticket item you should have it appraised by a jewelery appraiser. People are cautious when they can’t actually see the piece… But if you hve papers to back up your statements that might help…Good Luck
