I also wanted gold over platinum because when platinum is professionally polished, they actually remove a thin layer of platinum from your ring! Which means your investment is losing money!!! I also despise being too trendy and since yellow gold is awesome and a great way to buck the trend, I had to have it. Because everyone I know has platinum or white gold, my ring is much prettier and different and more unique than every1 else's!
